Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, OH There are many options regarding the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This report reviews the safety, efficacy, and early results of the various treatment options, with a focus on endoscopic therapy for GERD. This approach, which is still in its infancy, is viewed as cost-effective without the associated morbidity of surgery and the necessity of long-term compliance with medical therapy.
